    Questions

    Bold and italic text questions

How does bold and italic text work on social media?
Most networks don't give you bold or italic when you write a post. This tool swaps each letter for a look-alike character from a bold or italic Unicode alphabet, which any app that can show Unicode text can display. You copy the result and paste it like normal text.
    Where can I use it?
In most places that accept ordinary text: bios, captions, posts and comments on X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads and TikTok, and in messages and documents. Usernames, handles and links only accept plain letters, numbers and a few symbols, so leave those unstyled.
    Is fancy text accessible?
Not fully. Screen readers may read each styled letter by its Unicode name or skip it, and search can't match styled words. Use it for short emphasis, such as a name or a headline, and keep the key information in plain text.
Why do some letters or numbers stay plain?
Not every style has every character. Italic and the script and fraktur styles have no digits, and the squared styles cover capital letters only. Punctuation, emoji and accented letters stay as they are.
Do styled letters count toward a network's character limit?
Yes, and some networks count each styled letter as two characters, so a styled post can run out of room sooner than plain text. Check the length against the network's limit before you post.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, type, tap a style to copy it and paste it into the app. How a style looks depends on the fonts on the device, and a rare character may show as an empty box on an older phone.
Is it free, and is my text saved?
It's free and needs no account. The styles are made in your browser and nothing you type is sent to our servers.
Can I schedule a post with styled text?
You can paste styled text into a post in RobinReach and schedule it to 13 networks from one calendar. Check each network's character limit first, since styled letters can count for more. A free account includes 2 social accounts and 20 posts a month.

A fancy text generator that works wherever you can paste

Most networks don't give you bold or italic when you write a post. This generator gets you there another way: it replaces each letter with its look-alike from a bold, italic, script or other Unicode alphabet, so the style travels with the text when you paste it.

    • Make a name or a headline stand out in a bio
    • Add emphasis to the first line of a LinkedIn post
    • Set a call to action apart in a caption
    • Label a list or a short quote
    • Give your display name or a profile section some personality

Everything runs in your browser. Type once, see every style at once and click the one you want. It's made by RobinReach, the social media scheduler that posts to 13 networks from one calendar.

Use styled text for short emphasis only: screen readers and search engines may not read it as ordinary words. RobinReach isn't affiliated with the networks named on this page.
