# Connect Devin Desktop (Windsurf) to RobinReach: MCP Setup

> To connect Devin Desktop, the editor formerly called Windsurf, to RobinReach, open its MCP config file from the Cascade panel and add a robinreach entry with serverUrl set to your RobinReach URL with your API key. Save and refresh, and Cascade can use RobinReach's 77 tools to write, schedule and publish posts on 13 networks, read analytics and answer comments. It is included on the Bloom, Thrive and Scale plans.

## What you need

In Devin Desktop:
- Devin Desktop, or Windsurf before its rename.
- On Enterprise teams, MCP turned on by an admin.
- Your API key from the Integrations page in RobinReach.

In RobinReach:
- The Bloom, Thrive and Scale plan (Bloom, $24 a month).
- An API key from the Integrations page (the account key reaches every brand; a brand key reaches one).

## Setup

### 1. Open the MCP config file

In the Cascade panel, click the **...** menu at the top right, then the **Open MCP config file** icon in the MCPs section. The file lives at ~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json on Mac and Linux.

### 2. Paste this block

Replace **YOUR_API_KEY** with the key from the Integrations page in RobinReach. If the file already lists servers, add robinreach next to them inside mcpServers.

### 3. Save, refresh and say hello

Refresh the MCP list in Cascade, then ask it to list your RobinReach brands.

Check it works: Ask Cascade: "List my RobinReach brands".

### Keep the key out of the URL

Devin Desktop can send the key as a header instead. Use this block in place of the one in step 2.

## Troubleshooting

**Cascade says it has too many tools.** Cascade can use 100 tools at a time across all servers, and RobinReach brings 77. Switch off tools you do not use, here or in your other servers.

**I cannot find mcp_config.json.** Open it from the Cascade panel's ... menu. On Windows it lives at %APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json. Older Windsurf versions kept it at ~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json.

**MCP is greyed out on my team.** On Enterprise plans an admin has to turn MCP on, and can limit which servers are allowed. Ask them to allow robinreach.

## Questions

### Is Devin Desktop the same as Windsurf?

Yes. Cognition renamed Windsurf to Devin Desktop in 2026, and Cascade still supports MCP servers. If RobinReach is missing after the update, add the block above to the new config file.

### Do I need Node.js?

No. Devin Desktop connects to the URL directly over HTTP.

### Can I connect just one brand?

Yes. Use that brand's key from its Integrations page.

### Why does the 100 tool limit matter?

It counts tools across every server you have turned on. RobinReach has 77, so with other large servers on you may need to switch some tools off.

### Which plans include it?

On RobinReach, the Bloom, Thrive and Scale plans.
